Thank you to everyone who entered a collaborative project for Collaborate to Innovate, the highly prestigious awards competition organised by The Engineer.
Judged by a panel of leading UK engineers – winning entries had to demonstrate that they were innovative, collaborative and likely to have an impact in their field of application.
The event provided a fascinating snapshot of some of the trends and technologies that are defining modern engineering, and also highlighted the degree to which industry and academia are collaborating to solve fundamental problems across a variety of sectors.
From the biggest and boldest infrastructure projects to the most fundamental technology breakthroughs, effective collaboration is the lifeblood of engineering innovation, and through C2I we aim to uncover and celebrate some of the UK’s most inspiring, innovative and effective collaborative technology projects.
The competition is open to any collaborative group. Whether you’re a major OEM collaborating with another large business, or a tiny academic research group working with an equally tiny university spin-out, if you’re developing innovative technology we asked to hear from you. All entries had to be collaborative and meet a technical challenge related to one of our broad category themes.
Entries were judged by a panel of judges drawn from the highest levels of industry and winners were announced at a special Winners’ Party in September.
The event will culminate with a one-day conference, to be held in December 2017 at the MTC Lloyds Bank Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in Coventry where the winners will present their projects alongside keynote presentations on the challenges of collaboration and innovation.
